AT&T Samsung Captivate Tricks - Set Custom text message ringtone

If you have no problem with loading mp3 music to your Samsung Captivate , then it鈥檚 easy to set your personal custome ringtone for the text message on Samsung Captivate. But firstly you need to install a micro SD card on your handsets, then Go to 鈥淢y Files鈥 to creat one new file named ‘Notifications‘ for messaging ringtones within the SD card, then put your Mp3 songs in the new file. Finally then Captivate will automatically place your ringtones into the appropriate ringtone lists on the phone; if not immediate, restart phone to run the Media Scanner. Following is the specific operation procedure, just do exactly as the steps:

1. Go to 鈥淢y Files鈥 , you should see the sdcard

2. Press the menu button

3. press 鈥渃reate Folder鈥 and name it 鈥淣otifications鈥

4 . place songs or files under this new folder

5. go to 鈥淢essaging鈥 and press the settings - AT&T Cell Phone Problems and Solutions

6.Scroll down to notification settings and select ringtone

Note: still you can鈥檛 set the mp3 file bigger than 300kb as ringtones, so you have to make sure your songs loaded to your Samsung Captivate device are all smaller than 300kb.

Hope this helps!
