Android 2.3 Gingerbread update won鈥檛 come to AT&T HTC Desire
Bad news for HTC Desire owners for AT&T, yesterday it was reported that the HTC Desire can鈥檛 receive the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update from htc official due to memory problem. Many HTC desire users are waiting for the HTC official update, but now it seems that this dream has been broken.
Following is the official description as for this thing: “Our engineering team has been working to bring gingerbread update to htC Desire over the past few months but without affectting the Sense interface experience, but we regret to announce that we have to accept the facts that the Desire can鈥檛 receive the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the memory not enough, and we can鈥檛 have a perfect experience of Sense interface. If this meessage makes you feel disappointed, and we sincerely saddened for you.”.
HTC is not always willing to give up the Sense interface, it would perfer not to upgrade the operation system, but it will not abandon their own user interface system equiped in its device. which is really not easy to make sure it is bad luck or good luck for users.
But the facts is the HTC Wildfore S equiped with 600MHz CPU銆512MB RAM銆512MB ROM still can run bingerbread OS, why the HTC Desire with a 1GHz processor and 576MB RAM, 512MB ROM can not be upgraded to Android 2.3? HTC鈥檚 argument is a bit too far-fetched, it can only say that they want to give up updating this handset.
Nnother phone is abandoned by HtC, but fortunately, for the Desire users, there are other third-party ROM upgrade can be used to Android 2.3 OS, such as the stable version of the CM7.
