Officially: All AT&T Cell Phones unlock code will be provided for free on June 4
Great news for many of AT&T cell Phone owners, today AT&T makes an agreement of providing the unlock code for all its phones but had some exceptions, in order to out of the settlement or object to a class action lawsuit.
However, the offer is not oriented all AT&T cell phone users, the Iphone is excluded. If you want to get the unlock code for your device, you need to meet the following requirements:
- You must complete 90 days of active AT&T service
- if you are thePre-paid ussers, you must provide proof of buying of their locked handsets
- if you are AT&T exclusive phone users for less than 10 months, you have to wait until that 10 month period expires. This also means that if AT&T has a longer exclusive period, the carrier will never provide an unlock code.Which is jus the reason why the iphone is not included in the line, as it bound by an exclusivity agreement that lasts till 2012.
Ok, if you are longer to unlock your AT&T handsets to make it work with another carrier, such as T-Mobile and Verizon wireless, and you meet the requirements above, now you can decide to get the unlock code for your devices from AT&T .
Fiannly, please note the June 4, 2010 is the postmark date for filing, and the final approval date is July 2, 2010.
