Samsung Rugby II. I was told by AT&T rep this phone was “construction” grade. Might be built that way but the volume level is so low, with hearing volume at full level, you must be in a quiet environment to hear! I鈥檝e taken the phone back twice and the last time was told to keep the audio port close to the ear -where else would you keep it?
The phone volume starts out good and then tapers off as you are talking. The ringer is the same, it starts low and increases — like a pulsation.
I would not recommend this phone to anyone!

I just bought a RugbyII A847… and I do not have a manual to help me use the phone…I can begin to text, but cannot figure out how to space between words or backspace to delete errors. Do I really have to buy a manual on top of the purchase price of the phone? (bought at the AT&T store at the East Mall in Harrisburg, PS
    thanks, Carl Rhodes

When phone is being charged, it will not receive incomming calls. I can use it to make a call however. Also, when phone is removed from charger the phone shuts off. Is this the norm?

I agree with donald russell and also R Wieler. I need a printed manual NOT a downloaded one! How do you carry that in a pocketbook when you are on the road? and the ptt button is too touchy for where it is located on the telephone.

Can not get the Rugby ii Manual to open or download, is it my computer or your web-site??? I love my phone, I have had no problems with it, it has been dropped several times unfortunately and still no problems. My only complaint, I set the volume to MAX and it will reset itself periodically to lower level and I will miss a call or two. Other than that, I love this thing to no end!!

I really like the rugby II. I had an issue with a low voice when turned up to 7. What I did was to turn the phone off by holding the orange button until it started to power down. I waited 5 minutes and turned the phone back on w/the orange button. Bingo. No more volume problem. Turning the phone off/on periodically will re-sync to your tower and provide/install updates. I had to call tech spt with the question of does this phone have voice cmds for bluetooth and if so where are they? Tech spt had to transfer me to a real tech spt person. She checked the manual and could find anything about it. Then she tried their “troubleshooting file” and there it was. It does have that feature. The reason I called was because I could not get my CD that they provided to work. Sound familiar? Something I have learned over the years is if you want to know something about a cell phone find a young person, tell them what you want and they will figure it out for you within 5/10 minutes.

I have had this phone for several months and I hate it. There is not place to hold it without touching one of the buttons on the outside of the phone.
