every phone has a different subsidy unlock code, it depends on the imei, this unlock code can only be obtained either from the manufacturer (which will never give it) or directly from att, we have a little program called snooper, where we put the imei and we get the unlock code for every phone

If you are with At&t or know someone that is been with them for at least 2 years contracted. Tell them to put in there chip for about 1 day or 2. the At&t server will recognize the new phone. Tell them to call into customer service and tell them you are taking a trip back to your homeland in asia and compliment how u like their service. They will review your Payment history and Records and if all goes good they will give you the unlock code. Simple and easy.
Hi, I just came to South America with my Xenon and I really wanted to keep using it. I did a lot of research online and this really helped, thanks! BTW, I didn’t pay for my subsidy code thing. I went to the AT&T website, went to their live chat section, talked to one of their reps and asked them directly. They didn’t even ask any questions or anything, besides the standard, and gave me the code for free, simple and easy. Now my Xenon is working with a Paraguayan SIM card

Thanks a lot! All i did was call customer service and ask for the Subsidy they gave it to me with no problem or questions.
i took out the battery and when i try to turn it on it wont work i have it on the charger and it shows that its charging…but i still cant turn it on please help me!
Maybe there is some problem with your battery? Have you changed one new battery to install on your lg xenon phone?

I simply called At&t and told them that I had recently bought the phone from a friend who told me that my sim card would work. Explained that I was having a problem with the phone customer service explained the whole process of unlocking a phone for free. They stayed on the phone with me for the whole process. It is as easy as calling and asking.
Simply called At&T go phone service and gave them the IMEI and received the Subsidy Unlock Code from them…free!

Im a Tmobile customer but got a LG XENON phone from ATT. Called ATT support, I told them that Im not their customer but need the phone unlocked because I was going overseas.
After couple of “for the record” questions: 1. What is my phone number (even tmobile) 2. My name 3. What was the person’s name that originaly bought the xenon phone (answered I dont know) 4. Gave them the imei number (obtained from the back of the phone) and they generated the unlock code and it unlocked my phone. The xenon is working with tmobile now.
Call ATT they dont have any problems giving you the unlock code. just be polite to the support reps.

I called AT&T to ask for unlock codes for my phones (3 phone family plan), told them I’m going for a month long vacation overseas and plan to use my phone over there using local SIM cards. The first support rep was quite evasive telling me he would direct me to some section that offers international calling plans, blah, etc. – so I hung up. Tried again a few minutes later and surprisingly, the second support rep I talked to was very nice, very polite and helpful, promised to provide excellent service and to make matters short, she gave me the codes & successfully unlocked my phones
I called at & t and they told me that the phone i got was either lost or stolen, so they won’t give me the unlock code. Is there any other way to get the code? I know how to unlock it, but I need the code. Or if someone knows where to get setool 2 software for free, reply to this post. I will be very thankful.

I just bought this phone for my mum and still need to unlock it. Sounds like AT&T is a great resource but is that only for their own customers? I’m from Toronto and we don’t have AT&T as a provider here.

You don’t have to be dishonest. I called AT&T and was upfront and told them I got the phone from my sister, and would it be possible to get the code…the lady I spoke with was extremely helpful, and nice and gave me the code without a problem. Great Customer Service!

To all of you people who can’t seem to read any of these other posts… You have to call AT&T and ask for the unlock code. Every phone has a different unlock code. PLEASE stop asking for people to give you a code to unlock it. You can also pay $20 for some sites to give you the code, but AT&T will just give it to you for free. Idiots!
Just to add a little something to my comment, don’t be fooled by these websites that want you to pay for unlocking you at&t phone. I just now called AT&T and told them I needed my girlfriends phone unlocked so I can use it on another carrier and the guy was super nice and gave me the code after providing the IMEI number located under the battery of your phone.

I’ll be receiving a Xenon this week. This will be the 6th AT&T phone I’ve unlocked. A few of the other replies are correct – most of you people need to stop asking for the unlock code, as it will be different for every phone, because of the IME number. And, as mentioned earlier, be honest, courteous, and 9 times out of 10, they’ll be quite willing to accomodate your request for the unlock code. Then, follow the instructions here, which one line 1 is the same process for the two Pantech phones I just unlocked yesterday and today
The unlockshack site on this page advertise 1.89 to 3.99 when you finally click the paypal pay button the charge is 9.99.
The WirelessUnlocking site is 1.89 their actual price is 8.99. They advertise prior to paying that it’s an instant unlock code. After you pay it becomes 12 to 24 hrs.
Both these sites are hiding the actual cost till you’re ready to select pay from paypal (I declined).
My phone is nothing special, just a LG Xenon.
