It’s official, after so long time’s wait, recently AT&T finally released the android 4.0 ICS update for Samsung galaxy S II. If you have been anxiously waiting for it’s arrival, now gets it. What’s a little uncomfortable  the update is not sent out Via OTA, you have to manually download and install it on your att galaxy s 2 via Samsung’s Kies software tools, although the progress is somewhat complex, don’t worry, just follow the steps bleow:

Steps of how to manuall install the android 4.0 ICS update on AT&T  Samsung galaxy S II：

reparations:

1. Download and install the latest version of Samsung Kies for T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II  on a PC[Download link]

Note: Select the SAMSUNG Kies version compatible with your  PC

2. backed up all of your data, including the contents of the internal (non-removable) SD card, to prevent unnecessary data loss.

Steps of how to manually get the Andoid 4.0 ICS update on T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II

1. Connect your phone with a PC via a usb cableafter you have install the Samsung Kies on your PC.
2. On the PC, open the Kies application.
3. Connect the device to the computer using the included USB cable.
4. Once Kies recognizes the device, a popup window will appear.
5. Click Update.
6. Read the Caution statements and select the I have read… check box.
7. If desired, select Allow saving to back up the device. If not, select Proceed without saving.
8. Click Start Upgrade.
9. The software will download to the PC, and then to the device.
10. When the update completes, the ‘Firmware Upgrade Complete‘ window will appear.
11. Click OK to confirm.

Update June 24th:  At first, the android 4.0 ICS update was only available for download for att samsung galaxy s2 for limited time, and later it was removed due to not fully tested. When we are thinking that  ICS update was delayed again, exciting, today we heard that some users are able to  download the update via Kies. An OTA update still has not rolled out yet.

Ok, now that tthe Galaxy s 2 has gotten the android 4.0.3 ICS update, hopefully Samsung and AT&T will released the ICS upgrade for Samsung captivate and Samsung galaxy S II Skyrocket as soon as possible.
