Official：AT&T sets the release date of Android 4.0 ICS Update for LG Nitro HD on July 31
Update on September 8: Ｔｈｅofficial Android 4.0 ICS Update for AT&T LG Nitro HD has been availbale for download as sheduled starting July 31.
At the end of May this year, we had heard that the LG was testing the Android 4.0 ICS Update for AT&T LG Nitro HD, however, after so long time’s waiting, we haven’t gotten the ICS upgrade so far. When we all feel frustrated and disappointed, today AT&T announced that they will officially release the 4.0 ICS update for LG Nitro HD on July 31. It means that the users finally can enjoy the Ice Cream Sandwich.

The update will bring the LG’s new Optimus 3.0 UI and other news feature, also it will come with some improvements for LG Nitro HD. In addition to the ICS update for the Nitro HD, AT&T said they will be dilivering the maintenance updates to the HTC One X and the HTC Inspire in the coming weeks, but it did not supply a specific date. The update will add AT&T Address Book, HTC Sense 3.0 and Task Manager on both devices.
How to manually download and install the android 4.0 ICS Update for LG Nitro HD steps:
All things you need to do fistly:
- Fully charge the battery of your phone
- back up all the data on a micro SD card(contacts, images, etc)before updating the software, because the update will erase the data.
- Remove the micro SD memory card.
- Close all open applications on your computer before proceeding with the update.
1. Download and install the latest driver of att LG Nitro HD on your PC.
LG United Mobile Driver (compatible with Windows XP, Vista, and Win7 OS)2. Download and install the install the LG Mobile Support Tool on your PC.

Windows XP, Vista, and Win73. Connect your phone to your PC using the USB cable included with your device.
- Select “PC Software” and press OK.
- Do not disconnect the USB cable until the update is complete.
4. Click ‘Start Updating’ within the LG Mobile Support Tool to begin.
- Device will progress through Analysis, Download, Update and Complete during the update process.
- In Update step, at approx. 5% completion the device will power off and enter a download mode, this is normal. DO NOT DISCONNECT THE USB CABLE!
- In Update step, at approx. 95% the device will power on, this may take several minutes. This is normal. DO NOT DISCONNECT THE USB CABLE!
- If your phone software upgrade stops before it has completed, please do not close the update tool and try the update again. Additional troubleshooting steps below.
5. When upgrade is complete the tool will notify you, see image below.
6. Wait for device to power on. Once powered on device will reconnect to the LG Mobile Support Tool. When connected, observe the version number indicates the latest SW. It is now OK TO DISCONNECT THE USB CABLE.
