After many frustrating, a few days ago HTCfianlly officially announced that either the HTC Desire HD and AT&T HTC Inspire 4G will not get the official Android 4.0 update, HTC  explained that this is because the memory of desire HD and att inspire 4g is very limited, but the ICS packbage is very big. Although HTC will not released the android 4.0 update,  HTC will continue to push the follow-up official upgrade to the two mobile phone users.

According to HTC official website, HTC has rolled out  the new ROM  update for AT&T   HTC Inspire 4G , the  upgrade packbage  including HTC Sense 3.0 ( Unfortunately, it is still not the latest HTC Sense 4.0 UI) and some new features, including Task Manager and AT&T Address Book. In addition , the upgrade also brought a number of bug fixes, improving  the condition that missed calls can’t be  recorded , but also enhance the security of the system.

The new software update is only compatible with att htc inspire 4g, currently the OTA update is under preparation , if you can’t wait to get it, you can directly download the software upgrades  from htc official website.

Please read carefully the instructions below on how to manually download and install the update on AT&T HTC Inspire 4G.

1. Download and save the HTC Inspire 4G  for AT&T ROM update to your PC.
2. Connect your device to your PC via the supplied USB cable. NOTE: You must have HTC Sync installed on your PC in order to run the update.
3. On the Connect To PC pop-up on your device, select HTC Sync.
4. NOTE: If the pop-up does not display, go to Menu > Settings > Connect to PC > Default connection type and tap HTC Sync.
5. Once connected to HTC Sync, locate the HTC Inspire 4G  for AT&T ROM Update that you downloaded and double-click on the file to launch the system update wizard.
6. Follow all of the system update wizard instructions shown on your PC.
7. Once the update is complete, click Finish in the Wizard and the device will reboot.
8. Once the device reboots, the initial setup wizard will appear.
9. Once the initial setup process is complete, the device is ready for use.

Update on August 24th: Starting July 31st, the new OTA software update has arrived at the HTC Inspire 4G for AT&T one after another. The udpate version is 3.20.502.52. Inspire 4G users can access the menu > Settings > AT&T software update to check for updates.
