Requirement: A usb cable is necessary
Transfer Pictures From AT&T LG Xenon Phone to PC steps:

- select “Connectivity” (I’m assuming here that LG uses a uniform menu across several phones)
- Select “USB Connection”

I have tried this and connected to two pc’s. one with vista and one with xp and neither can locate the phone. It says all drivers are loaded but under my computer it is not listed. Any ideas?
Go here to download the usb driver for lg xenon:

I have had no problem transfering pictures into my Xenon from my computer and also from my Xenon back into my computer using the bluetooth in the phone and a bluetooth dongle (Kensington bluetooth USB adabpter) on my computer.
My computer is running WIndows XP. I have been using the same bluetooth dongle (Kensington bluetooth USB adabpter) for a few years on my old my Motorola phone as well.
I use it to transfer ringtones and pictures to and from all of my bluetooth phones including my new LG Xenon.
I have not tried a USB cable yet. Since the bluetooth works I don’t see the need for the cable.
I followed the USB cable instructions for photo transfer shown above however when I go to look at the removeable device using explorer it tells me “insert a disk into F:” Could it be this process will not work to transfer photos from the phone memory unless one also has a memory card on the phone? I also tried downloading the USB driver mentioned in another website but that didn’t change anything however I don’t know if it really tried to use that driver.
i have the same problem.
Downloaded the usb software and everything and followed the instructions to transfer. It keeps saying “insert disk into F”
Cant figure it out. Under my computer it just has it has a music device. How can i get the pics?
This doesnt work at all theres a fil called pictures but it hold sample pics not ones you can use on the phone or ones already on the phone
do u need a special kind of usb like specially made for lg xenon phone….or any will do
do u need a special usb for da phone or any will do
Yes, it must be compatible with lg xenon
I have always been an att guy, and I am not a computer idiot.
The difficulty I am continuing to have to do something as simple as upload pics to a pc from a cell phone is causing me to think seriously about leaving ATT.
I feel I was given a phone, and lied to about it’s functionality.
I have the same problem, insert disk. Ihave tried everything mentioned above to no avail. Why?
Any update on this problem? I have same problem as described above. Downloading driver did not help.
This worked the first time i uploaded, now i need to upload more multimedia and its not transfering what i need.
thank you for posting this worked without a problem……only had to dl a driver but other then that work fine
This works but only for files stored on the Micro SD card. I had pictures taken with the phone’s camera stored in the phones internal memory. I was hoping my computer would read that memory like a flash drive as implied in the manual. That is not the case. I found I had to insert a MSD chip into the phone and move the pics to the card. The move command was not easy to find and not described in the manual. You will find it only after you insert a MSD chip. Once done (with the USB mass storage activated) go into the show pictures menu and viola, there is a move command you can use. Once moved to the MSD card and the USB mass storage setting activated you will be able to read the files and copy them to your PC.
thank you so much for this info i finally got my videos and pics online from lg xenon
I do not have a micro SD card, all my pictures are stored in the internal memory. I have a USB connector and installed the LG PC Suite II that came with it and I still cannot access internal memory, but my computer can see a removable disk for the micro SD card. LG PC Suite does not say any phone is connected despite my computer being able to see a removable disk for the SD card. How do I get my pictures off my phone?
What USB connector do I use?? I can’t find a cord that can attach to my phone anywhere!
where can i get the usb, and how much does it cost?
I had the same problem where i couldnt get my pictures to show up after i did once already, what you have to do is go to you pictures on your phone and select the new ones you took and move them to your memory card. then when you reconnect your usb cord you should be able to see them now. That’s what i did hope it helps
I bought the Datapilot for LG software at best buy. It had the USB data cables included. I loaded the software with no problem. (OS-Vista) Now I find out that the Datapilot will not work with the USB cable but will with their bluetooth adaptor. (According to Datapilot’s website) So, going back to best buy today to buy the $30 bluetooth adaptor. Am I chasing my tail with this?
how do i know if the usb cord is compatible with my xenon? because the one i am using now, when i plug it into the pc, it keeps saying insert disk f. is that a compatibility problem? what kind of cord do i need for my pc to recognize it so i can get the pictures and videos off my phone without using a memory card?
Looks as though there is no solution other than getting an SD card so the photos stored in the phone internal memory can be transferred to the SD card then those photos can be transferred from the SD card to the PC. The Bluetooth method might work, but I haven’t’ tried it, however I would have to need one of those bluetooth tongle things – another expense. Bummer photos can’t be transferred directly from the phone to the PC using the USB. That’s another thing, the USB cable is non standard – it look a lot like a standard USB cable that you plug into your camera and videocamera, but it is a little different.
um… WTF??? where am i supposed to get a USB to fit in the phone!! I have four different USB’s from digital cameras, but none of them fit!!!!
Is there any way to download pictures from the LG Xenon to an Apple computer?
Having problems getting your pictures off your phone and onto your computer?
1- You need a MicroSD memory card. Insert the memory card into the side of your phone. Access the Pictures (Tools – Pictures). In the menu (top right corner pop-out menu) you can now select “Move” or “Copy”. You will have the option to select individual photos or all of them. Once you have the pictures selected, you will want to “drill down” in the “graphics” folder. No files will show up in the list, but once there, click “paste” or “move” and the files will be copied/moved to your memory card.
2- Either use a Memory Reader (like a thumb drive that you plug the memory card into) or a Micro5 data cable with USB connector to transfer the files.
The data cable was $5 online. Cost me $8 total including shipping. The Memory Reader was $12 at the AT&T store.
The Micro5 data cable plugs in where your power adapter would go. If using this method, you will need to change your “Settings” (the gear), “More”, “Connection”, “USB Connection” – select “Mass Storage”. You can now plug your data cable into either Windows XP or Windows Vista (I’ve used both) and windows should install the GR500 driver automatically and ask you if you want to import the pictures.
Thanks to Jason! I finally uploaded the pics to my comp
To those people whose computers are saying “Please insert a disk into drive X” or whatever, you have to keep your phone turned on when you connect it to the computer. Same thing happened to me at first.
The screen on my LG Xenon is broken.
and I wanted to copy my contacts to my phone.
and when I plug the usb into the computer all I get is the music player.
any ideas?
here is my Email djasher33@aol.com
my contacts from my phone to my computer.*
You can buy a compatible usb cable from the AT&T store or even from WalMart.
Go here to download the usb driver for lg xenon:
http://www.att-phones.org/att-lg-xenon-pc-suite-usb-driver-download.html
To make sense of a previous post here, go into the pictures menu, select move, select all photos you wish to move, select memory card, then select a folder, and hit paste.
When you connect your phone as mass storage, all the files you moved should be under the folder name you moved them to on the phone.
is there not a way to just to stick the memory card in and got look at pics
you will have to download the drivers.. windows does not normally locate them its self..
also you CAN NOT get the USB cable at walmart… walmart does not carry it.. at least most of them don’t. I work in electronics.
by the way.. i’ve tried this after downloading and installing the “LG Xenon PC suite and drivers” and it still will not recognize the phone.. i dont know if this is a newer generation phone but it looks different then the ones in the picture.. but i know it’s a xenon
i cant find “conectivity”
well i figured it out. but it says it cant connect. its pissing me off.
THANK YOU JASON !!!!!

I bought the data cable months ago from a AT&T authorized retailer. When I bought the cable, they didn’t even know if I needed software. When I spoke to them today, they led me here. So far, I have followed all of the VERY helpful comments and downloaded the software and the USB driver only to discover that it still didn’t work. Followed the comments some more to find out that I now need a micro SD card before I can transfer the pics off of my phone. Thank you to whoever has been posting these instructions and links: they have been very helpful. What’s sad is that they were WAY more helpful than the damn people who sold me my phone.
I have the same issue as djasher – broken screen – cant see at all – and need to get pictures off of the phone – onto computer – but when I plug into computer – it says it is a music player – please help – thanks
Wow this worked great! thanks u saved my life
