How to set mp3 ringtones as text message alerts on AT&T Pantech Matrix

Many AT&T pantech matrix users meet the same problem, which is they don’t know how to set mp3 ringtones as text message alerts onpantech matrix, today I’ll share my own experience.
Through lots of trial and error I found that you can set an MP3 to play when a text message is received by going to Menu->9 Settings->1 Profiles->Options->Customize->Message Sound. Then I success.
Of course,my success of setting text msmg tones depends on two factors:One is聽 the MP3 has to be more than 3.1kb (the smallest file I got to work was 3.18 KB (3,266 bytes)).聽 If the file was any smaller, it just wouldn’t play.聽 If you suspect your file is too small, try playing it with the player.聽 If it won’t play with the
player, I don’t think it will play when you get a text message. The other thing is that it only plays about the first 3 seconds of the MP3.聽 And I just noticed you can’t select files that are very large (3MB+).聽 I haven’t done a bunch of tests to see what the upper bound is (I suspect around 300KB) because it only plays the first 3 seconds, so anything more than that is overkill.
Ok,that’s all.Hope you’ll be out of your problem as soon as possible.
