Steps of how to root Motorola Atrix 4G 2.2.2/2.3.4/2.3.6.   AT&T Cell Phone Problems and Solutions

1. Download and install the motorola phone driver for Motorola Atrix 4g[Download], and install it on your PC.
2. Connect your atrix 4g phone with your PC, download the ADB-Fastboot package[Click here to download]
3.Shut down and then press the “Volume” and “power button” at the same time.
4. Wait untill the Fastboot words appears at the the top left of the your phone’s screen, pess the “Volume” into Fastboot mode.
5. unzip the ADB-Fastboot package and root image to your C:\ Drive under a new folder titled “root” – You should now have everything in C:\root

6. Run your command prompt (Start >> run “cmd” >> enter)

7. Enter the following commands.

C: \ Users \ Administrator> cd C :/ the adb-to fastboot (the first step is to search path, you don’t need enter the black part of the text)

C: \ adb-fastboot> fastboot flash preinstall root.img (the second step to write the data,you don’t need enter the black part of the text),

The following three lines is what’s your computer display when you enter the two commands above. [the time is not different]
sending ‘preinstall’ (32768 KB)… OKAY [  3.120s]
writing ‘preinstall’… OKAY [  2.250s]
finished. total time: 5.370s

C: \ the adb-to fastboot> to fastboot reboot (the third step is input the restart  command, you don’t need enter the black part of the text)

The following two lines are what’s your PC display , at the same time your  phone will automatically restart.
rebooting …
finished. the total time: -0.000

Note： Please remember  not close the CMD window , be Patience to wait for the phone  restart and then it fully access to the desktop, open the USB debugging. (Settings → Applications → development → USB debugging)

8. enter the commands in a CMD window as follow step by step.

 / preinstall / dosu
  / bin / mount / system-o remount, rw
 cp / the preinstall / su / system / bin / su
  chmod 6 755 / system / bin / su
 cp / the preinstall / Superuser.apk / system / the app / Superuser.apk
 chmod 6755 / system / app / Superuser.apk
