AT&T Successes to upgrade its 3G network in New York City
AT&T’s spokesman Mark Siegel today claims that AT&T has upgraded聽 New York City Area’s 3G Network to 850MHz spectrum, and AT&T is providing the similar upgrade for Atlanta and San Francisco in currently “. In addtion, Siegel also said that the 850-MHz upgrade is only part of a series of upgrades going on with AT&T’s network right now, and AT&T聽 is currently upgrading its 3G network to a faster version called HSDPA 7.2 that should provide higher data speeds. That upgrade will start at the end of this year and run through 2011. Currently, the iPhone 3GS is the only AT&T phone that supports HSDPA 7.2, though two of the carrier’s USB modems also support the faster speeds.
