AT&T samsung Solstice - Set Mp3 Files As Ringtones

Q: How to set mp3 files as a contact ringtone, alarm tone, text ringtones or as the incoming call ringtone on AT&T Samsung Solstice ?

A: Yes, the A887 (Solstice)聽 phone provides the ability to playback MP3 files, assign them as a contact ringtone, alarm tone or as the incoming call ringtone. The handset supports the following audio file types as ringtones: MP3, AAC, WMA, MP4, 3GP and AMR. AT&T cell phone Questions&Answers

Note: Audio files less than 300 KB are treated as ringtones, whereas audio files which are greater than 300 KB are considered as Music. You cannot set an MP3 file as a ringtone if it is larger than 300 KB.

To assign an MP3 file as the call ringtone, caller ringtone or alarm tone on samsung Solstice聽 follow the steps below:

  1. From the standby screen, press Menu
  2. Press My Stuff
  3. Press Audio
  4. Press either Tones or Music, to view the contents
  5. Press the desired MP3 file to play it
  6. Press Set as
  7. Press one of the following:
  • Call Ringtone: To set the MP3 as the current profile’s Ringtone
  • Caller Ringtone

o Press Search Contact
o Press the desired Contact
o Press Save to assign the MP3 file as the Caller Ringtone
8. Alarm Tone

  • Press the desired Alarm
  • Presson Save to assign the MP3 file as the Alarm Tone

    so the ringtones; does that also include having the ringtones for text too? and when somebone texts will there assigned tone play or default? thank you=)
