AT&T Samsung Solstice Echo Issue/problem

AT&T Samsung Solstice Echo Issue/problem

I just got the Samsung Solstice from AT&T two weeks ago, I loved it but i met the echo issue when using the speaker phone, I mean I can hear my voice sometime once I used the voice recognition command when calling.

As for this problem for Samsung Solstice, there are several solutions

Methods 1: Resetting the phone, as it caused by using Voice Recognition tool.

Reset Samsung Solstice Steps:

1)     Go to Settings -> Phone – Reset Phone.

2)     A warning message shows up, Select Yes.

3)     It asks for new password, I type “0000”

4)     Confirm the password by typing “0000” again.

5)     Wait until it finishes. AT&T cell phone Questions&Answers

6)     Go to Settings -> Display and Light Widget, uncheck Voice Recognition to avoid using it by accident

PS: This way can’t deal with the real proble,  as soon as you use the voice command again, the echo problem came back. Therefore, it’s the voice recognition tool that must have changed something to make the speakerphone echo.

Methods 2:

ATT Now is offering a refreshed Samsung Solstice for us, so have had it less than 30 days, take it be to the original place of purchase and exchange it. It seems that AT&T has fixed the Echo issue.

Ps: If you have gotten the refreshed solsticce, tell us whether it still has the same problem.

  • I have a solstice with the echo problem. It’d be great if AT&T/Samsung have fixed the problem. How do we know which stores have the refreshed Solstice now?

  • I bought mine from Wirefly and just received today. Appears to have the same echo problem. Any updates on this?

  • Just gotten this phone for xmas and ran across same problem. Even covering up the mic, reducing volume all the way and putting finger overspeaker did not help. This occured only while using speakerphone and only the other end of the line was getting echo. I had been playing with voice recognition before this occured. Just to try, I rebooted the phone without reset and remade the call and no echo. I removed the voice recognition widget to prevent accidental touches. So some may try just rebooting before the reset option. It appears that this is a software problem and not just a matter of the mic picking up the speaker.

  • i got the solstice a few days before christmas, its worked fine until a few days ago where the vibration goes away. iv gone everywhere in the phone to try and get it to vibrate again. it wont. i even to the testers to see how strong the vibration is and there is no responce. i dont know how to fix it. and im afraid to reset the phone that i would lose my ring tones, contacts, and pictures. any advice?

  • I have a problem with the Samsung that people calling me are hearing an echo, but I do not. If I pull the battery from the phone and replace it, the problem is resolved. Customer service sent a new simm card, but that didn’t fix the problem. Will the refreshed phone solve this?

  • To Kaylam, I have had my phone for a year now no big issues until last night the vibration feedback stopped working. I tried resetting the phone and it didnt do squat but make me even more mad because i had to change everything back to how i costomized it. You wont lose your ring tones or anything it just resets the original settings not the contents in it.

  • My phone wasn’t holding a charge, so I replaced the battery, but I still have the problem. It charges fine, the battery indicator shows full and will stay that way until I actually use the phone. Even after a short use, the battery will rapidly starting losing its charge and if I talk or use the cell for other purposes, the phone itself gets hot.

Can this problem be fixed? I really like my cell phone and don’t want to replace if possible
