If this phone will not synchronize organizer data, it is WORTHLESS as a PDA.
I was told in the store I could synch my contacts but there is no option in PC Studio. Are there any plans to do this in the next 30 days, i.e, so I can return the phone if it is not going to support outlook synch?

att samsung impression worst tutorial and website ever created…of NO HELP and after repeatedly e-mailing both att and samsung so-called support sites have given up…would never buy this product again. good luck to anyone seeking info on the most basic tasks of this phone.

I loaded PC Studio 3 on my PC and it does not work with the Impression. How do you make this software work with impression? If it does not, then fix the information on your link. I also have the “New PC Studio” software, which is the worst designed useless POS I have ever seen. It should be called “Old POS PC Studio”

I have had success using the version of NPS for the eternity on one of my PC’s with the Impression, but not the PC I want to use with the impression. Try the version for the eternity and let us know if that works for synching contacts and calendar functions as well.

I got a new samsung impression in early May to replace a HTC tilt. I was not using all the features on the tilt and the interface was not user friendly. The impression is very practical and easy to use. It is good for messaging and is a good phone overall. I heard a lot of problems with outlook sync and gmail access. The outlook sync is easy to fix. I downloaded the eternity pc studio software instead of the impression software and outlook sync is easy. This eternity version works on windows xp but wont work on my vista at home. Luckily i have xp at work and was able to sync about 400 numbers quickly. Hope samsung restores the outlook sync feature that they failed to add in the impression version of pc studio and also fixes the vista bugs. I have not found a way to activate g mail but i am prepared to wait. If that does not happen, i may have to forward to hotmail and work through that.
Exactly what did the designers of this phone thought we ought to do with our old contacts if we can’t sync with a database? Are we suppose to sit there and enter hundreds of contacts on that tiny screen one by one? Are they crazy? I am returning this phone.

This phone has been the biggest disappointment I have had with Samsung and it coincided with my first Samsung Monitor problem. My monitor caught on fire. They made me send it back and they sent me a refurbished one. It is awful. I have had a CRT Samsung for almost 15 years that is awesome. However, after the support I have received over the past 2 months with both cell phone and monitor. I am dumping AT&T and Samsung. I build computers for a living. I have always recommended Samsung. Not any more.
I just got an impression and I am texting with the virtual keyboard when I hold the phone sideways. When I type the letter I and the space bar the phone freezes and then reboots in one minute. I then went to an AT&T store and tried both of their phones and it did the same thing. Is anyone else having this problme and does anyone know if Samsung is going to fix this

You can sync your contacts on the samsung impression but don’t use the newer version of PC studio that came with the phone. I think there doing that so it doesn’t work and people run out and get a PDA and have to pay the $30 extra for internet. It took me awhile to figure this out but download the older version of PC Studio for the samsung eternity and it will work beautifully. I just imported 150 or more contacts from outlook to my samsung impression so don’t give up and take it back and pay for a PDA and pay the $30 extra a month, that’s what they want you to do. Or pay $80 a month for the IPHONE. It works fine on this. The Samsung Impression is a good phone and you don’t have to pay that extra money.

The samsung impression can only hold 30 messages on its sim card and every once in a while it will fill up and you can’t receive any more text messages. Is there a way to set up the phone to never save messages to sim card or clear the sim card without deleting every other message you have I can’t find it. Samsung.com and ATT.com are completely useless.
I also want to know how do to save messges drivedtly in Memmory card not in the Sim card. But I have found the method so far.
I have a question about the impression accessing microsoft outlook web access from the browser. has anyone been able to get it to work? how about using outlook mobile access? will loading any of the eternity software help with this? have gone back and forth on phones and had the HTC fuze and then went back to the impression. i got the same results using owa from the fuze as i do with the impression. any suggestions?

Can anyone help me get pix off the impression? I have read all the directions for downloading but it keeps saying that my connection is being used by another program and to shut that down first? when i try to connect samsung impression to my PC Studio it says that this device cannot opened because another program is currently using it. Close the program to connect the device. Move to search the new device…. but i don’t have any programs up or using my device, what am i suppose to do?

When I sync the calendar from outlook to the impression, the impression changes the times of the meetings by moving them up an hour. It appears to be happening on events scheduled for after daylight savings in November. Is there a way to fix this? Possible turn off daylight savings feature on the phone? Any ideas?

I found that this works better than trying to integrate using the Samsung Eternity software.

RE: Daylight savings, do the following – somebody posted this on an Eternity forum and it worked:
1. Go to Settings.
2. Select Time & Date.
3. Select Manual Only.
4. SAVE
5. Go to Settings > Time & Date.
6. Click on Time Zone
7. Click the “sun” icon so it turns yellow.
8. SAVE
9. Answer ‘No’ to prompt to update Time & Date
10. Go to Settings > Time & Date.
11. Double-check time and adjust if necessary
PC Studio can’t find my device? When I connect my Impression..it keeps telling me it can’t find the driver. I’ve uninstalled & reinstalled PC Studio twice. I point the device install to PC Studio folder, USB 1, etc..and it still doesn’t find it. What am I doing wrong?

i’m having problems with Impression as it’s saving sms messages on the sim card instead of the phone. i would need to go to each message and save to phone from the more option everytime! is there a way to have sms messages save diretly on the phone?? i looked into the setting and didn’t find any. please help!! it’s driving me crazy as it keeps asking me to clear msg history coz it has to space left!!
i cannot download the pc studio it hangs after saying configuring i have two pc’s an both have the same problem.. Therefore cannot upload any files or transfer whats the point in having the phone??
I don’t have a problem with the impression phone yet ( I have only had it for about 3 weeks) but I am totally underwhelmed with the pc studio software. The pc studio software is the most unprofessional, user abusive installation that I have encountered in a long time. I cannot even get it to load to my windows 7 64 bit machine (the drivers will not install under any circumstances). For a company that seems to want to be a player in the technical world, Samsung really sucks with this software.

i even re download the proram and somtimes wait a couple of months then try it again but then when i go to look for a nother device on the pc studion i click my phone there as it is shown then it just shows a box that says loading.Then it does that for about 2-3 minutes then says it was disconected restrat the program and i do but then it still doesnt work what should i do.

i liked the style of the phone so I purchased it on 2 Dec. 2009and i am very disappoint in this phone… the disappointment comes in because it will not allow me to download anything and it ver seldom allows me to connect to Media Net, Media Mall and AT&T Music… i have spoken with technicians and have been told there is not 3G network in my area, but i know of several people in my area who has said device and has no problems… i have been told several time that a tower us down on different days… i have been told that i needed a new SIM card, bought one and the darn thing is still doing the exact same thing as before… i get error messages when trying to connect to the Internet and error messages when trying to download and/or connect to e-mail and IM…the inventor, engineers and AT&T should carefully consider giving everyone an exchange because this is not satisfactory
This is a dumb question, but… I can’t figure out where the connect the data cable that came with my Impression. It’s smaller than the input on the top of the phone. Could it possibly have been packaged wrong? Anyone else have this problem?

For people having problems installing the drivers on a Windows 7 64 Bit version, you must install the program as an administrator for it to install properly. Just right click on the file you are installing and choose run as administrator from the drop down menu. The drivers will install just fine.

I love my impressions phone and just got one last week. I just figured out that outlook doesn’t sync with it. Are there any other phone options besides going back to a blackberry? I like the screen and apps on the impression and touch screen but I have to have outlook for work. Thanks!
I am so upset I can’t even see straight! Bought new impression yesterday. downloaded pc studio manager my pc so I could download my music. Studio said it installed correctly and transferred all itunes to studio. went to transfer to impression and nothing. Checked the usb and it is not recognized. The samsung shows up under portable devices and nothing else. Have reinstalled this crap software several times…. same result. Samsung say Windows 2000 or later; does this not work on windows 7. What really made me made is I could not uninstall the Studio! I think I will take the phone back.

the calibration on my touch screen is off… way off! It wont allow me to touch the menu, contact or dial buttons on the main screen. So my question is how can I access the applications, so I can re calibrate the phone through the settings? Please help.

uhm, yeah i have the impression now and i used to have a palm centro, and i have to clue how to find pictures from this phone on my computer….i plugged it into my computer, and clicked “PC” or whatever it said on my phone’s screen, but i dont know where to find the pictures! and im a tad frustrated, so help would be much appreciated! thanks!!

Ditto everyone trying to get the above program to recognize the USB-attached Impression. Can not do it. Installed, rebooted, uninstalled, rebooted, installed, rebooted, and still absolutely nothing.
AT&T Cell Phones of 1/6 – Blow your instructions out your nose. If I tell you the phone isn’t recognize, don’t tell me to go to “connect,” and proceed as if everything works. It doesn’t work. The ridiculous thing is that Windows XP RECOGNIZES THE PHONE as SAMSUNG CDMA. But useless PC Studio can’t keep up with it.

After I plug my samsung impression into my laptop(hp pavilion entertainment pc) I tap pc studio on my phone and my computer downloaded a document to get to my phone information but I dont know how to get to that document. My Impression (all of the sudden after using all morning) yesterday erased all my email and facebook information – ie I had to set up the email stuff again through mobile email, and every time I go to facebook mobile I have to sign in when before it kept me signed in. what is the deal and what is the fix? Also, will this phone ever suppose gmail on mobile email. I luckily have a comcast email address I just forwarded my gmail to but seriously… it supports comcast and not gmail???

I will never buy a samsung product again due to the lack of support I received this evening. I spent two hours downloading PC studio and attempting to transfer the photos from my impression. This is ridiculous. I called samsung to assist me and was told to plug my usb in my computer and that is Level one support could help me with. Really, as if I hadn’t tried that. Come on. Then they proceededto tell me that I would need to try tomorrow to speak to level two. So if you have already tried plugging in the usb, dont bother calling as that is the only suggestion they can provide. Never again and I currently have multiple samsung products. Thanks for the customer appreciation.
Yeah, i have read every post in this thread and have experienced most of the problems listed. I too have windows 7 and after spending all my spare time for the last three days downloading, installing, uninstalling, restarting, testing operation, finding out that the drivers won’t install, repeating, using program as administrator, and trading out usb cables. I have tried every trick in this thread to no avail. It just doesnt work. The mass storage option on the phone when I plug in the usb cord works like a champ. the media player works. The pc studio is the biggest piece of crap i have ever seen. To say I am extremely dissatisfied is an understatement. It does not make sense to me that I have a new phone (recieved in November of last year) a new laptop with the latest software (purchased two weeks ago) less than 4 months apart and the software is incompatible. Then I read a post from AT&T (Post 9 above) that “It seems there are no plans for samsung impression recently. And the impression doesn鈥檛 support outlook synch.” WTF, seriously. I will NEVER buy a samsung product again if this isn’t resolved in a timely manner, as in the next week.
Oh and AT&T pay attention too. That $99 Motorola Droid from verizon is looking better more and more every day.

I have an impression, work phone I have ever had, I thought it said in the specifications on the site that it could sync with outlook. I think att needs to work that out. I am about to cancel my service and go to another carrier( verizon) to be exact!!! lower prices and better phone choices

Hi, I just got a Samsung Impression and I have a Mac. I am seeing at the top of this page that PC Studio 3 has supposedly been updated to be compatible with Mac, but I do not see a link or explanation or anything at all to confirm this anywhere. Please help! I would really appreciate it, thanks.
Windows 7 users: If you think this is the worst phone you have ever had, return it, sell it, throw it away, do whatever you want, just get rid of the phone and shut up about it. No one cares what you have to say, and bitching is only going to make people care even less.
If you can see this is clearly an amazing phone with a minor software issue, read on.
Google and download the following program: 20070813082717640_Samsung_USB_Driver_Installer.exe
Go into properties, run in compatibility mode for Windows Vista SP2, and check the box to run as an admin. Do the same for the PC Studio installer. Run the driver installer, then the PC Studio installer. Do those few steps, and you’re done. Windows 7 compatibility, now dry those eyes.
