I bought my granddaughter the quickfire phone and it does not charge properly so when I called the AT&T store the guy told me that I should have gotten a recall letter from AT&T for the phone and he gave me a number to warranty exchange. He said that by calling this number I would be sent a new phone because they do not repair the quickfire phones anymore, because they do not receive parts for the phone. But after reading your site it says that there was no such recall. However, I did notice that the phone does have a problem with charging and may explode. My granddaughter’s phone will not completely charge and gets hot even when plugged with the arrow in the correct position. I paid too much for this phone to be having problems like this in less than a year. I need to have this phone fixed or replaced ASAP. If anything happens to my granddaughter concerning this phone I will seek both criminal and civil actions against your company.

A friend of mine has a quickfire and there is nothing wrong with it. When you put the charger in upside down your phone immediately blacks out. It doesnt delete your memory or anything like that. All you have to do is take it out, turn it back on, and plug it up the correct way. They are quality but expensive phones. Whats the big deal?

so, a couple of days ago, my quickfire fell into my bathtub, which was filled with water. i immediately took the battery out and let it dry for two days. the phone will turn on but, i don’t have service, the touch screen doesn’t work and some of the keys are not responsive. if i take it to an at&t store, will they be able to fix it?

I take extreme care of my phone and have never dropped it or anything to hurt it. In the past few days my quickfire has been having alot of problems. I have had to pull the battery out twice to shut it off because it has completely frozen, I had a two hour period in which my phone said it has signal but was not receiving or taking calls or texts and had to be shutdown. and while shutting down it wouldnt start back up properly it was freezing. The touch screen has been very finicky lately and not responsive. I have heard about getting replacements for it but they are propels or another option i believe??? and i have looked at both models and they are barely half of what i paid for this one. I like this phone but would like to get it exchanged if this is going to continue. Are the propel and the other my only options? and will i be compensated at all for the drop in price? Whats the closest thing to the quickfire thats available…i hear the Vu is good, is that an option?

I do have problems with my quickfire.I have to touch the screen like three times before it moves to what I want. I don’t get texts or phone calls when I am suppose to. The battery is extremely hot when it is charging. The screen goes blank when it wants to and comes back on. I would like to know what phone can replace this phone but I paid a lot of money for this phone so I would like something similar to it. Will you ATT replace it?

My quickfire was working fine and then just shut off all the sudden and won’t turn back on. It’s not dead because it doesn’t even turn on when I plug it in to charge…. How do I take the back off to access the battery? It won’t come off

i have a quickfire as well. I have no idea whats wrong with it and from what i have read the problem i am having with my phone is the same as many. The touchscreen is very unresponsive and i have to touch it many times before it does something. I charged it all night and when i took off the charger it was low on battery. It freezes an awful lot as well and often times requires the phone to be shut off to unfreeze the phone. It also runs really hot even when the charger is plugged in properly (i never plug it in the wrong way). I looked at the samsung impression and i like it alot. It reminds me of the quickfire. If anything I would like to have that phone as a replacement for my quickfire but i don’t want it to be counted as an upgradee or have to pay full price for att putting out a falty phone. How should i go about getting the impression?

  13. AT&T Cell Phones
    April 16th, 2009 | 10:35 pm

But you have used the quickfire phone for a long time. So I think there is no possible to replace it with new samsung ippression. You have to upgrae it.

I have had my quickfire for about three months, and just recently my screen cracked. I have the one year warranty for it. What are the phones I have to choose from are now that the quickfire is not being sold anymore?

  15. AT&T Cell Phones
    April 20th, 2009 | 8:51 pm

Yes, AT&T has stopped to sell the quickfire phone. If your phone is still under guarantee, you can go to AT&T store to repair it for free.

I have the quickfire and I for the most part really like the phone except for the touch screen doesn’t work the greatest once the battery starts going dead. I have no trouble with it charging but once I lose even one bar off the battery the touch screen starts being difficult.

I heard of a recall on the quickfire which took place in march. It is now almost end of April and I have never received any letter to tell me of a recall. I have used the charger properly and have encountered no problems. Would I still need to return it for another phone? I have noticed some things happen as others have mentioned. The screen blacks out then turns back on by itself. I really enjoy this phone very much and hope that if it needs to be replaced that I am compensated with a similar phone and similar in price. I will absolutely not accept trading in a $200 phone for a $50 one. Come on At&t you can do better than that to satisfy the customer.

Dear AT&T over the years we have spent thousands of dollars with you. We now have 4 phones on our plan. We purchased a Quick-fire for our son and have experienced most of the same problems as these other customers. If its such a great Phone why did you discontinue selling it . This phone obviously didn”t have enough testing in the R & D stages . In my opinion this phone is garbage. your company told us how great it was. A few months later it is un-useable. My son takes very good care of his electronics. WHEN IS YOUR COMPANY GOING TO GET HONEST WITH US?????? BUY THE PHONES BACK!!!!! TRADE IN DEALS!!!!! DO SOMETHING FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS BESIDES SIDESTEP ALL THE ISSUES!!!!!

I’ve had the AT&T Quickfire for about eight to nine months now, and I can honestly say, I like it. Even though I have problems with it here and there, every phone has some problems that go on and it’s something you just accept over the years. Before I had the Quickfire, I had the Pantech Duo, and let me tell you, THAT was a bad phone. Not only did it have glitches every time i selected a program, but it ran slowly, the screen took forever to switch sides when I pulled out the keyboard, the keyboard was slow, and it would shut off on me randomly. With the Quickfire, I’m definitely experiencing some of the same problems all you guys are going through as well - the touch screen and it’s non responsive issues. Usually, when I go to press a program, it either just doesn’t respond, even if I press it like eight times, or it takes a long time to respond. When I press the message key on the home screen, I have to press it like four times for it to come up. Not lying - but, the phone itself is pretty fast, when I click it and it wants to work - it works, and it doesn’t even take a second to open up, it’ll immediatley open up. Another problem I have, is my media, like my pictures, take forever to come up and load to the screen. My charger is fine, my phone has heated up on me once or twice, but never like the way other people see it; and never in such a way like i couldn’t touch it. However, I do agree that AT&T should reimburse everyone’s money that they paid for this phone, because this phone isn’t cheap - and we did pay a lot of money for it, and if they’ve decided to stop selling it, that’s ridiculous. We should at least be given an option to get a new phone half off, or something. I’ve gone through so many problems and conflicts with AT&T, that I’m not even surprised this happened. Everyone just switch to Verizon, AT&T has failed, yet, again.

I have had the quickfire since Jan. and I haven’t experienced any problems with it. The touchscreen works perfectly, the charger doesn’t over heat the phone.. but i do have one concern. When i talk on the phone for up to 10-15 minutes, the screen starts to heat up. It gets so hot to the point that my ear starts to get very irritated so i have to set it down. I consider this dangerous and a fire hazard. It has nothing to do with the new charger but I would like to be able to talk on my phone while being safe. Even though i don’t have warranty, and i have had this phone for over a month, will i be able to come in and exchange it for a new phone? Possibly the same price that i bought the Quickfire for?

I bought the quickfire in december and at first loved it. Then over the past months, it has been horrible. The touchscreen in REALLY unresponsive, and my phone freezes a whole lot. I recently went to florida and went into an at&t store and the woman in the store said if I was still in my two year warranty I could replace the phone for a better phone like the lg xenon (which i really want.) I have been reading all these message boards on how you can’t get a different phone than the quickfire for the replacement. I really would NOT like the quickfire phone as a replacement. It has been the worst phone I have ever used and will NOT be accepting it as my replacement phone. At&t has to give the people with deffective quickfires a much better phone.

    May 20th, 2009 | 4:49 pm

I bought this phone Dec. 1. I went into the store to get a car charger last week and was told that I could no longer purchase one. When I explained that the phone will only hold a charge for 12 hours they put me on the phone with the warranty dept. They had to search to see if they could find a replacement battery and finally got a hold of one. They sent that and still the same problem. I called today and told them and now they are going to send me another stinkin’ quickfire. I mentioned on the phone that it freezes up and they didn’t say a word. Why wasn’t something sent saying that the phones have been discontinued due to defects. I can see if it is because they upgraded the model, but this is rediculous. I have a 6 year old diabetic daughter and I HAVE to be able to depend on my phone working properly in case there is a problem!

Ok i have the AT&T Quickfire and ive only had it for a little while and i have the warranty. At first it worked fine but just recently it started messing up and being retarded. Sometimes my messages delete and the touch screen can be realy slow. My phone always gets really hot when its on the charger and at random times the phone shuts off (even wen the battery isnt low). Will i be able to turn in my phone and get the Xenon for exchange without having to pay full price?

I have a Quickfire and I paid alot for it. But it has a fuzzy screen and will not work the store i went to said to call warranty dept. so i did and they are sending me another quickfire! I believe this phone is having alot of problems and sending me another one isn’t going to make it any better. I would like a different phone like the LG Xenon. Will at&t replace this quickfire with the LG Xenon? That Quickfire was alot of money for me to get some cheap free phone.

I also purchased the new hottest phone out there for my daughter’s 13th birthday, spending over $250.00 only 4 months ago and am on hold now with AT&T warranty department. They are adamant that all they can do is exchange this phone with another QuickFire (which as everyone knows they are no longer allowed to sell as of 2-23-09). Her reason has been nothing more then their system won’t allow them to override the replacement phone model.

This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen from a company that is supposed to be so beyond the years with technology. I have been with AT&T for many, many years with multiple lines and there is absolutely nothing they are willing to do for me.

I bought my Quickfire in the begining of December. A friend of mine told me about the recal but I never recieved a letter or notification as many said they did. My phone was still working fine so I disregaurded it as a rumor. But just with in the last few weeks, my phone has started to go crazy! the screen is fuzzy and will start preforming actions without me touching the buttons. I can’t use it at all! I loved my quickfire, is there anyway to repair it or get a new one? If not, what are the phone that I can trade for?

hey, i bought my quickfire around december of 08, and up until a few months ago, it was working fine. the touch screen started having problems, and after a while it was completely unresponsive. i called the att warranty phone number (1-800-801-1101) and they said that they have a special department for dealing with the quickfire, since it has so many problems. since there was no way to fix it, they shipped me a new quickfire, which just recently, stopped charging on me. so i called them again and they said they could exchange my quickfire for an lg xenon, but it was a one time courtesy thing because they were out of the full kit quickfires. but i would suggest not wasting your money on it, for the time i had it it worked great, but it just gave me way too many problems.

when in doubt, just call that warranty number. they’ll most likely ship you a brand new quickfire.

this phone is driving me up a wall the touch screen selects whatever it wants, it freezes all the time, it rings when it feels like it, it sets random alarms for itself and i get text messages hours after they’ve been sent the qwerty board has sticky keys and when i went to buy a car charger cuz the battery is always dying they tell me it got recalled. now i know about the charger being recalled but i didnt receive anything about the phone itself and when i called the manufacturer they told me nothing was wrong with it, so i went back to another at&t store and they told me it was recalled again so now theyre just giving me the run-around im paying for insurance for the phone but no one wants to fix the problem!

Well I just talked to the warranty place earlier and I am having an impression sent to me because u complained a real lot and went to extremes buy my issues with the quickfire were mild then slowly got worsse and now it doesn’t even work unless it’s in the charged and when I take it off it instantly shuts off and right beforethis the phone would shutoff randomly then wouldn’t turn on without the charger. This phone is basically one of the worst phones ever and AT&T needs to ddo more then just send a new piece of shit to others the xenon should be the minimum trade in phone or maybe the neon

I have been an AT & T coustomer for a very long time. I bought this phone for my son in Nov. and he has experienced every single one of these problems listed…not holding a charge, slow touch screen to now, NO touch screen. This phone goes from not being sold in stores in Feb. to now being ‘on sale’ for $29!! Are you kidding me? Why aren’t we given some sort of rebate? What are the choices for replacement phones?

i have had the quickfire since the week it came out. i am now on my fourth phone one, and im fed up. i had my parents call this time to complain, and they offered me a vu or a xexon. i dont really want either phone. id just like to have a credit to my account. i have always loved att but i cant believe they would sell this horrible phone, knowing that it isnt working properly, and not refund or credit my account and let me get a phone i would like. when my contract ends i will not be renewing to att.

My daughter has a quick fire cell phone and was experiencing problems with the phone holding a charge and the screen going black. We contacted the warranty department and was told that they would send us a refurbished phone. When the refurbished phone arrived, we had to return our old phone to AT&T in the same box. About a week later, we received a letter from AT&T stating our account would be charged $210.00 for the refurbished phone they sent us because they had determined that the phone had a broken display, LCD or Lens. There was NOTHING visibly wrong with this phone! In fact, we took it to a local AT&T dealer and had the phone assessed before returning it. We paid less for the original phone and it was brand new! We are now being told that we can’t return the refurbished phone. This is a bogus attempt at AT&T not taking responsibility for a product that obvioulsy has numerous problems. Has anyone else experienced similar problems?

    July 28th, 2009 | 12:29 am

Yes I got my quickfire last wk at 7/20.. so far it has been only a wk but i already have experienced some of the problems listed here:
1/ the touch screen is not very sensitive; many times i need to touch 3 or 4 times to get where i want it to go..
2/ I don’t think it gets hot while being charged, but it DOES when I am on the phone for about 20 to 30 minutes…

In addition the bluetooth of this phone is very.. well… ridiculous.. its not like the bluetooth of the other phones i have had… and the USB cable too.. very complex and requires a lot of spending on accessories…

So what I do is im gonna give it some more time to see if there is any problems coming up… and btw honestly i really like the design of this phone.. it looks gorgeous, and i think its one of the main reasons why we choose it in the first place…

Wow, I can’t believe how many people are having problems with the Quickfire. I have had it since it came out and have experienced alot of the same problems with this phone. My 2 biggest complaints is the charger doesn’t stay in the phone. It always leans a bit to one side and keeps coming out just enough for it to not sense it is there. Frustrating to have to keep finger on it or set it just right so it will continue to charge. Then there are times that it charges ALL Night long and it is still on ONE BAR in the morning. So, new charger, old charger they don’t work correctly at all!!!

My other complaint is the touch screen is not always receptive. Sometimes it responds to the wrong function too. Like it asks if I want to save or delete and I hit yes and sometimes it responds to the “no” function! Then sometimes I am trying to get into the messaging to text and it will connect to the internet instead! So, what I am saying is you can touch one function and another function completely away from where you touched will respond instead. THEN, I get charged for connecting when I didn’t want to in the first place!

Oh, and sometimes the speakerphone isn’t very loud either. That can be frustrating, but MOST phones are like that, so, that is nothing new.

All in all though, I LOVE MY QUICKFIRE and I actually wanted to get my fiance’ one because he is up for a new phone and wants a qwerty and I really do like the Quickfire. Just wish it would work properly all the time. It does overheat when talking sometimes though too. Now, I am worried that it will stop working altogether like so many of yours has. I don’t want to all of a sudden have no phone! I don’t have a landline, this is the only phone I have! Now I am reading about white screens??? Yikes! I don’t know what I would do!
We paid ALOT of money for these phones AT&T and if they are malfunctioning or have been discontinued/recalled, why weren’t we notified??? Soooo unprofessional, uncaring and disrespectful to your customers!

Can anyone say CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT?????????

Maybe that is what needs to happen with this. This is ridiculous! If I need to exchange my phone for any of these serious problems, I expect to get a phone of EQUAL price and value!!! NOT half price or refurbished!

Wow, I am floored at the woman who was sent a refurbished phone and now they are wanting her to PAY over $200 for the refurb?!?!?!? YIKES! What is AT&T thinking??? Seriously, this is just WRONG!

I see class action written all over this one!

I am SHOCKED to hear that the phone has been recalled and actually taken off the market!!! I

I’ve had the quickfire for about 8 months and, at first I had no trouble with it. Then, a couple of months ago, the touchscreen began to give me problems. Now, there are times when the screen just seems to lock up completely and no matter what I do, the touchscreen won’t work. Also, sometimes, when I try to send messages and go to select the send button, the delete button (on the OPPOSITE side of the screen!) decides to get selected instead. It’s been driving me crazy! But because I’ve had the phone for so long, can I still return it or something? I just really don’t want to deal with it anymore

We have two of them and the touch screen is terrible on both. In August, we had one unit replaced and already the screen is not responsive. I’d quit the touchscreen completely and just navigate with the keypad but you can’t get to all the options with the keypad, or atleast I haven’tfigured out how to. Not happy with the Quickfire and the way AT&T is handling the situation. Planning to look elsewhere.

I am beginning to notice many issues: poor touch screen, overheating, etc. I saw that you would replace the phone with another model, but the models offered are about $20! that’s a $180 difference we have to pay for an error in production, does that really seem fair?
