I have the pantech duo right now and it broke so easily after only about 4 times dropping it. i cant wait for the quickfire to come out because i’ve always wanted a sidekick and this resembles one very much so. the only question i have is how much is this phone without the 2 year contract? because mine isnt up yet and i want it as soon as it comes out.

I just got the at&t Quickfire for my birthday, and I have to say, I absolutely love it! I love the QWERTY pad, its amazing to text with! I’ve had an IPHONE and I love the Quickfire alot more, for me anyway. The only thing better about the IPHONE is the touch screen is more sensitive on the IPHONE. Other than that, I’d rather have my Orange Quickfire!

Most of the other features 鈥 the HTML browser, the 1.3-megapixel camera, the touchscreen, and the battery life 鈥 are all average to slightly above average, but the real story is that they鈥檙e all included for $99. As the phone is marketed towards kids, though, most of the action is in the messaging features.

Conversely, if you鈥檙e one of those people who still prefers to actually talk on the phone the Quickfire makes clear calls, so you鈥檙e covered there, too. The QWERTY keyboard is spacious and easy to use, though the keys are a bit flat. The Quickfire is aimed at younger generations of text-happy kids and, thankfully, it excels in pretty much every aspect of the messaging department. Whether your favorite means of word transference is IM, e-mail, or text messaging, the Quickfire handles each with ease.
