  • What a fucking joke – you post the link above for Pantech Link PC Suite/Drivers & it doesn’t work – Pantech has changed their website which used to contain a section titled “Quick Links” so that you could download the PC Suite/Drivers for the phones they have in the market place, but now, if you just bought one of their phones, there’s no support ANYWHERE to be found as they lie & state YES – PC Suite is now available for the Pantech Link but IT’S NOT AT THEIR WEBSITE – SO, I’M LEFT TO CONCLUDE THAT PANTECH & THIS BULLSHIT “UNOFFICIAL ATT” WEBSITE ARE NOTHING MORE THAN A FUCKING JOKE!!!

  • Tim Basher, stop bashing this site and this article. FYI the pantech site is up and running. I just got a pantech link phone and was looking for software for it that would work on my computer. The quick link zip file posted on this article above bring you directly to the pantech navigation site, from there you click on phone support, then you scroll through and find your phone model. Click on your phone and then it brings you to a support page that has the phones manual and PC suite software for download. From there, click on PC suite, agree to terms, then it downloads right to your computer ready for install. Its that simple. Pantech and this site did not “lie”. You just have to use a little common sense and not leave shitty reviews on a site that is trying to help jackasses like your self (Tim Basher) who bitch about not being able to find software. If you had any decency, you would’ve at least left a comment stating that you were unable to find software with and that the quick link did not work for you, and then some one like my self would have posted a comment like this one with directions of how to get the pc suite software. But instead I am ranting about a (Tim Basher’s) negative comment. Any one who reads this PLEASE disregard Tim Basher’s comment. Just follow the instrucitons I listed in this and you will have your drivers and software support you are looking for.

  • Dear All:

For those who could not get it work: Were you looking for the cell phone as a USB device? I got it working in Windows 7. IT DOES NOT SHOW UP AS A USB DEVICE. You need to run the Pantech software, and it finds the cell telephone.

Even though it has a USB plug, it installs a COM driver. Look at Device Manager, as that is where I saw it.

Now, if only there was a version for Windows 7 x64.

  • Hello Jeff:

Installation in Win7 is not the issue for me. The software loads and opens in Win7; unfortunately, I find that is simply will not ‘work’ with Win7 applications (Outlook 2007). That is, the program either 1) stops working altogether and Win closes it, 2) a window opens stating “you need to go to the idle screen” (whatever that is), or 3) simply states that synchronization has failed.

So, whether com or USB… the authors of PC Suite software appear to have left us hanging… maybe they get a commision for driving us toward more expensive smart phones!! :O)

Well, I cut them some slack as Win7 has only been around for 3 years…

  • Eating my hat here: I am running Win7 and MSO2007.

I called back to Pantech and, from a different support technician, was given help on navigating the “idle screen” issue (#2 from my earlier rant). Well, that means the phone can’t be in the sleep/locked status and has to be at the top screen where date/time is shown when the phone is unlocked. With that, I restarted the synch process and it did the job.

So, I am going to set a longer delay before the phone goes to sleep and locks itself.

    I hope this helps somebody!

    Comment by rex — May 31, 2011

  • Same prob as Rex. A 3 year old Windows system is too new for this new phone? LOL
    I’ll never buy pantech again.

  • link is broken. Link takes you to the Pantech website EULA, but the download fails after you agree to eht EULA.

    Comment by David — July 28, 2011

  • All pantech products suck, and the support is worse. Never buy a pantech phone! The link does not work either.

    Comment by Scott — August 10, 2011

(The phone, and the URL above)
I will spend more and get a smart phone next time.
I am not allowed to load drivers on my work PC, so
I can’t access my phone at lunch time.
There should be no need for special drivers.
I just want to download my pictures! They should be
.jpg or .png files on a virtual disk drive.

This is the new location for the ‘Link PC suite’…

Its called using the search bar on the Pantechusa website…

Comment by The Doctor — October 24, 2011

  • I have been reading blogs and posts for months to try and get the Panteck P7040 to work with a window 7 64 bit. All I can say is that there’s no way to get it to work. I have done everything everyone has said works and still get nothing but a message “Installer 64 does not support this OS version” so bottom line phone is junk and so is software. In November I will get a new service and new phone and won’t be anything like this P.O.S.
