I successfully made the update; however, my Treo 680 now turns on-and-off repeatedly and on its own. It wears out the battery in about two hours as a result. Periodically in the process, I get a message that says to check the SIM card as it may be damaged or accidentally….. The red light blinks continuously though it is tower range. Incoming calls arrive, but it’s the dickens to place an outgoing call. Functionality is very slow. When I re-install SIM and battery, the on-and-off stuff starts again. It gets to the new ATT hello screen, brings up the appropriate screen for 3-4 minutes, then powers off again…..over and over. Called tech support and they had me do a hot sync. They said the hot sync would remove all data on my phone. Luckily, it did not as I do not have this info backed up anywhere nor am I sure how to do it. This stopped the powering off/on temporarily (about an hour) and then it started again. Please help.
The same thing is happening with my phone, the on/off thing, but I get a message that the installer is not compatible and that it should be deleted, when that attempt is made, it does not delete it.
