AT&T Nokia E71x Tricks-Install Nokia maps
I foud someone had install the Nokia maps for his AT&T Nokia E71x on att fortum . he said the nokia mapswas聽 good, as he can use them even if I do not have wifi access. Gratefully he also share the installtion tricks with us. If you need the Nokia maps, follow the steps below to install one for your Nokia e71x phone:
Notes: Nokia maps Version 2.0 4503 3.1 u”, which is for the E71, will not install on the E71x, but “Version 2.0 0701 3.2 u” installs and works properly. AT&T Cell phone Software
As long as you have Nokia PC Suite installed, you should be able to download and install Nokia Maps Updater and Nokia Map Loader.
- Then connect your phone to your computer, run Nokia Maps Updater, and the latest version of Ovi Maps 3.0 should be installed to your phone. AT&T Nokia E71X info
- Before you download any maps, you’ll need to insert a memory card into your phone (if you haven’t already) and open an close Ovi Maps once in order to create the necessary folders.
- Then run Nokia Map Loader and pre-download the maps you want to your memory card.

It works. A few points may need to be hight lighted. First you need to download and install the Nokia Map Loader and Nokia Map Updater on your PC. Then pre-down load the maps you desire to your phone as indicated above. The map down load may take a while as the file is rather large. The other thing is you will still need a subscription to Nokia maps for turn by turn directions. The maps will open and show where you are. The subscription can be monthly which is less than AT&T maps.
