Today I success to root my Motorola Atrix 2 on android 2.3.6 for AT&T with the one click root tool, I just test the method on myself atrix 2 phone. It works! The full steps are very detailed! Simple and clear! All that you need to do is connect your phone to your PC and then download the  double-click “Click-To-Root.bat”. software to your PC, then runs this file ,  about 2 minutes later your att atrix 2 will be rooted! Following is the details Specific steps of how to root Motorola Atrix 2 ME865 2.3.6.

Reparations:1. Download Motorola Atrix 2 usb driver, and install it on your PC

2. Download A2Root.zip

Note：If you are on Linux or a Mac then you will need to root your A2 manually. AT&T Cell Phone Problems and Solutions

Ok,now lets start!

1. Connect your atrix 2 android phone with your PC via a usb cable

2. Download and installed the Android SDK [Download here and  read the guide to Installing the SDK.]
3. Download the Manual Files.zip to yourＰＣ, then extract this zip files4. After unziping the zip files, you will get sevaral different filles,  Move all of its files to the “platform-tools” folder of where you have the SDK installed
5. Open up a command prompt or terminal”cd” to the “platform-tools” folder of where you have the SDK installed. (i.e. if it’s installed in C:\sdk the command would be “cd C:\sdk\platform-tools”)
Now type the following commands:

adb push motofail /data/local/motofail adb shell cd /data/local chmod 755 motofail ./motofail exploit

6. This performs the exploit to get root temporarily. Now reboot your phone with the power button or with “adb reboot”
Now type the following commands:

adb remount
 adb push su /system/xbin/su
 adb push Superuser.apk /system/app/Superuser.apk
 adb shell
 chmod 6755 /system/xbin/su
ln -s /system/xbin/su /system/bin/su

7. This pushes the necessary root files to your phone
Now run the following commands to remove temporary files and close any residual adb processes:

cd /data/local
./motofail clean
rm motofail
exit
adb kill-server

If you have done all the preparations, you will success to root your motorola atrix 2 phone, then you can already delete the preinstalled useless softwares on your phone in  read and write mode with RE browser.

PS, it is said this method is compatible with all versions of motorola Atrix 2 android 2.2.2/2.3.4/2.3.6 , hopefully it is so~
