Does not work. Tried on a vista machine and an XP machine. Installed the software but the computers still asked for a driver. I set windows to look in the directory created by installing the software and still got a driver not found message.

It doesn’t work for me either. I have the same problems as JB.

AT&T Cell Phones - since you got it to work could you provide step by step instructions? Perhaps I’m doing something wrong.

I cannot get my phone to stop dinging “charging” and “charging complete” over and over again. Also still cannot find any USB Driver at all that will work for my phone. I have tried an XP machine, XP Pro, and a Vista laptop with no success. Has anyone been able to tether and/or connect to their GR500 and transfer files, contacts or anything with a USB Cable or should I attempt a Bluetooth dongle.

This software download can only be used on a laptop that has a certain AT&T software already on it. You pretty much have to pay AT&T to have a certain software and then get this software for free and they work together. It’s a bunch of crap. It’s like “free stuff!!!… after the purchase and activation of a $30 software from us”. I suggest nobody else try and download this unless they have the required software from AT&T. The software that I am talking about is shown when you click on the link given in post number 10 by “AT&T Cell Phones”.

I’m in pretty much the same boat as many above. I don’t need to use the phone as a modem. Just want to sync to outlook. Does the phone need to be in Data or Mass Storage mode for the LG Outlook sync to work?

Everytime I get a new phone from the AT&T store I ask specifically if I can connect to a PC to put music on and download camera pics. Each time they lie and say yes and each time it’s a big hassle. It’s 2009, they should be able to give me a stupid storage device driver! I don’t need a USB modem driver or any AT&T crap software.

Did anyone figure this out, as mass storage my computer recognizes the phone and the memory card and all the folders in it. As Data Service, the computer and outlook 2007 does not recognize the phone.

If you’re trying to access your memory card in the LG Xenon, this is how I did it after many frustrating tries. It appears that several comments are similar in experience to mine. I apologize if what I suggest is different than what you are trying to achieve.

I am trying to access the photos I took. Also add music, and use the memory card as a ‘thumbdrive’.

On the main display page of the Xenon, choose the last ‘tab’ on the right hand margin, which resembles a sprocket.
Next, choose ‘More’, which is on the lower right.
    Next, choose ‘Connection.’
    Then select ‘USB Connection.’
Choose the ‘Mass Storage’ choice. You will need to have the USG cable UNplugged first.

The Xenon will indicate the Mass Storage election with a ‘red check mark.’
Go to your computer, (I go: START, Computer, then I see a new ‘Removable Storage Device’ listed. I double click, many folders appear, and my camera-taken-photos were in a folder marked “Graphics.’ Yours may be different. I ‘Cut’ the phots and pasted them to my laptop for editing, final storage, etc.

I hope this helps. I have questioned my decision to buy this phone. I am not inclined to recommend it.
