AT&T is about the close its 2G Network by 2017
According to the file that U.S. carrier AT & T submitted to聽 SEG , it displayed that AT&T will stop the service of its聽 GSM 2G network before 2017 ,聽 although the news聽 about AT&T will close the 2G network has requently been coming out previously, this is the first time that AT&T officially announced they will shut its 2G Network . Currently AT&T聽 are completing actively the聽 transition from聽 2G to 3G or 4G , but it is not very clear AT&T will聽 upgrade the existing base station or shut down them.
The AT & T’s 2G network聽 has exsited for quite long time, cureently there still聽 12% of paying customers using the a 2G network , AT & Twill continue to do the publicity and promotions initiatives聽 in the next few years.
