AT&T iPhone 3G S VS Palm Pre Reviews
Which phone is better, the AT&T iPhone 3G S or the聽 Palm Pre? I think there must be many customers have the same problem as me. As I’m also going to choose one latest smartphone, and I have aimed both iPhone 3G S and Palm Pre. After two days ’s omparison, I finally decide to choose the 3Gs phone. I guess you’ll ask me why, ok, following I’ll talk about my several views. AT&T Iphone 3GS Info
Firstly, the styles聽 of design for both iPhone 3G S and Palm Pre are quite distinct from each other. The iPhone 3GS looks quite beautiful and elegant, but聽 also is a little聽 lovely. As for the Palm Pre, I have to say it is so lovely. But I think I’ll be tired of it.

Secondly, their shapes aside, though both the Pre and iPhone 3Gs have a 3-megapixel cameras; however, there are some major differences in features. The Pre’s camera has an LED flash, but no autofocus, video recording or editing capabilities. You also cannot adjust white balance or exposure. Also, Apple did not throw in a flash for this generation, but the iPhone 3Gs brand-new camera gets some pretty nifty features nonetheless. While the Pre hasvideo recording capability, Video recording was long overdue for the iPhone, but the new iPhone 3G S also matches in features some of software advantages the Pre had over the 3G model. The 3G S has now copy and paste, MMS, tethering (coming later this year), A2DP Bluetooth capability, geotagging (photo and video) and turn-by-turn navigations.
Finally, what’s the important, for the same price as a 16GB iPhone3G S you only get a 8GB Palm Pre. AT&T Cell phone Reviews

I am in the same boat, but my list isn’t narrowed down quite as much as your yet (am also considering Touch Pro 2, Omnia 2, and an Android device). I have been following smartphone developement very closely for the last 6 months in anticipation of a purchase, so I am sticking to my plan waiting till the end of June to make up my mind.
That stated, while I can appreciate your topic a great deal, I can’t say I agree with the analysis. Personally, I think both phones are very sleek, but since styling is completely subjective, I’m all good with your opinion. However, the camera comparison is not really done much justice. The Pre facilitates the same basic auto macro, auto focus, white balancing, etc. via their software (I think it uses DxO, or something like that). Additionally, it has a flash and is faster than the iPhone 3GS. The one thing the iPhone has is the video functionality out of the box. You will have to wait for this on the Pre (I am guessing until they are confident Sprint’s network can handle the load). I love the idea of shooting video, but I know this will be added, so I am going with the Pre here since it has a flash that cannot be added to the iPhone.
For me, the single biggest differentiators are the screen size, the keyboards, and the cost. The iPhone has a great big screen that I really like; the Pre has the killer keyboard (I have tried it and really like it); and the Pre is significantly cheaper in the long run (well over $1,000 over the two year contract). I think the price difference will ultimately be the decider for me, but I still haven’t ruled out the Omnia II or the possibility a killer Android will be announced in the next couple of weeks (several Andriod announcements are expected).
