6. The HTC Pure phone appears do not need app unlock in order to modify registry.
7. There is a YouTube app already on the phone but no link from start menu. You can find the YouTube.exe and its shortcut file in Windows folder. Copy the shortcut file to start menu and you get YouTube app.
8. The phone comes with Windows Live Mail but no Live Messenger. Newer versions of Windows Live is now available in MarketPlace that will install Live Messenger as well. The newer version is also a much better improvement than the one pre-installed on the phone.
9. VoiceCommand is enabled by default. Press and hold ’send’ button will initiate VC on the phone.
10. Go to following registry key聽 [HKLM\Comm\InternetSharing\Settings] and delete “ForceCellConnection” value will enable the network connection selection dropdown box in InternetSharing application.
11. Go to following registry key聽 [HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\PhoneSetting] and change “ShowUMTSBandPage” to 1 will enable band selection page in phone settings. You will supprised to find UMTS 2100 and 800 as viable selection there. However, we need someone verify it when they travel to foreign countries.聽 To see the new band selection UI, go to start->settings->personal->phone and you will see a new tab labeled ‘band’
12. There are two apps: ‘Disable Proxy’ and ‘Restore Proxy’ on the phone let you easily disable or re-enable AT&T proxy.
13. MS offered a few nice designer theme with WM 6.50. You need to manually select them because it is default to AT&T theme. I personally like the ‘Rock and Republic black’ theme.
14. Power settings Information page – hen you go to settings->system->Power (or you can click on battery icon), there is a information page displays info like Standby time, talk time, device usage and last full charge. This page never get updated. It’s a quite useful page but not sure whether it is broken or the information won’t update until a few recharge cycles later.
